The Importance of Character Diversity
Ultimately, this gets back to the foundations of why we as a human race tell stories. We want to communicate ideas, spread knowledge, share secrets, engage with our contemporaries, entertain, inspire, call to action, and move people. Sure, you can do most of those things without telling a story, but stories are powerful because they connect with people on an emotional level. In order to make this connection, people have to relate to the story and feel like it’s their story, like they are a part of it and it was made for them. They have to see themselves or a version of themselves in the story so that it speaks to them personally as well as to the universal emotions in all of us. If some are singled out or left out, stories lose a bit of their power—or a lot of it.
With all the ideologically and emotionally charged politics at the forefront of social discourse right now, it’s easy to think diversity in stories (or in anything) is about being politically correct and try

Hello, so I'm currently studying a games design degree, for concept work we are allowed to use photo bashing, which is rough photo-manipulation from what I gather. However we strictly must reference the images used, and they must be copyright free. That is as we're told to prevent plagiarism.

As I've been browsing photo-manipulations, and digital paintings which use photo images in their construction or matte paintings, here and on artist's online portfolios, I've noticed work that is obviously using photo images however with no real reference to the original source.

So my question is here is there a type of use of photo images in art that does not formally require referencing the photo images used, or is that just only required when the art is used or presented in certain places and such?

I do hope I'm making sense.

You're very welcome, I do think your minecraft creations are epic, I look forward to seeing more creations in the future, or perhaps someday exploring in your server, once I have minecraft on computer. And I apologise that I don't know German.

You're welcome, errm oh yes, the empire state building, you picked a good time to take that picture, the early morning has a nice effect, almost looks as though it was taken in the building's early years I thought.

You're welcome. It was your Skyrim work that caught my attention, and i've never watched a digital photographer before, but theres a lot of good digital artwork to be found in games like Skyrim of course so i'm interested to see what you'll come up with.
